The Exercise Program at Winthrop University was just approved in 2008. The program is offered out of their Department of Health and Physical Education in the Richard W. Riley College of Education. The program features a solid liberal arts foundation in addition to the practical application of skills.

Towards the end of the program students are allowed to tailor their courses to their career goals after graduation.
