School Page Instructions

Below are the instructions for adding new school pages to Personal Training Schools Explorer. Once you have the proper permissions you can create a new school be doing the following:

  • Log in to your account
  • Click on My Account in the main navigation
  • In the left sidebar there is a link that says Create Content. Click it.
  • Then click Schools.

Now you will see a series of fields. A guide for what goes in these fields is below.

Title - Name of the school

Logo / Image - Upload the school's logo

Location fields - Just enter the location of the college or university. This should generate a marker on the Google Map next to the school.

Body - A description of the school that should contain unique content. You can look at some of the other schools for guidance. Basically, try to include anything unique and interesting about the school. For example, religious affiliation, avg classroom size, interesting history, and especially any unique features of their biotech or science programs etc. I would go for a minimum for 4 sentences. Some schools will be easier to write about than others. Try to avoid simply stating what the programs are or other information that is in the fields below.

Tuition, Total Enrollment, SAT/ACT info - This all comes from Petersons.com. Just enter the school's name in the quick college search on the home page and grab the info. Enter it into the fields. Peterson's shows a label like Mid-50% SAT with a higher and lower number. For both SAT and ACT the higher number goes in the field 25% of SAT scores above and the lower number goes in the 75% of SAT scores are above. The same goes for the ACT fields.

Online Programs - Check this if you notice that they offer any kind of online programs for personal training, exercise science, athletic training etc. You don't need to spend much time looking for this. If you notice it, check the box.

Degree Type(s) - Select the degree levels the school offers for their personal training programs. The school may have multiple programs with multiple degree outcomes. Check all the apply.

Majors - Select the majors that the school offers. If the exact major isn't there select the closest option.

State - Just select the state the school is in. This field triggers the school to show up on relevant state pages.
